We operate with a strengths-based, goal-oriented approach to advocacy and case management. By building on the inherent strengths of our members, we encourage self-advocacy, enabling them to manage challenges and ultimately avoid crises.

Our staff provides personalized support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping them navigate New York City’s housing market. Through Housing Search Workshops, Source of Income Discrimination Trainings, and ongoing assistance, the Empowerment Program is dedicated to ensuring marginalized communities receive the resources they need for long-term stability.

August at Neighbors Together

This month at Neighbors Together, we’re celebrating community care in action  -from clothing drives and housing advocacy to getting to know our team. Our work reflects the power of neighbors coming together to fight hunger, homelessness, and poverty with compassion and determination. Read on to see how your support helps fuel this work and how you can join us in building a more just and caring Brooklyn.

Community Care in Action

This month, our members picked out free, stylish clothing and received pantry essentials  -all thanks to the generosity of neighbors who care.

At Neighbors Together, we host regular clothing drives to make sure our community members have access to quality clothing that helps them feel confident and supported. These drives are only possible because of the incredible generosity of neighbors who donate, volunteer, and show up for one another.

Your kindness makes a real difference in creating a stronger, more compassionate community!

Urgent: Housing is On The Line

Right now, the Senate is drafting its budget, and major funding cuts to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are on the table.

These cuts would mean fewer resources for affordable housing, rental assistance, and homelessness services. For our members and neighbors across the country, that could be devastating.

Your voice matters. Contact your Senators today:

Subject: Protect HUD Funding -Housing is a Human Right

Dear Senator [Last Name],

I am writing as a constituent from [Your City/State] to urge you to protect HUD funding in the upcoming budget negotiations.

HUD programs provide critical support for affordable housing, rental assistance, and homelessness services. Cutting these resources would put countless families at risk of losing their homes and worsen the housing crisis in our communities.

Please stand with your constituents and ensure that HUD receives full, robust funding. Housing is a human right, and it must be treated as such.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
