TRAINED IN SOURCE OF INCOME DISCRIMINATION
We operate with a strengths-based, goal-oriented approach to advocacy and case management. By building on the inherent strengths of our members, we encourage self-advocacy, enabling them to manage challenges and ultimately avoid crises.

Our staff provides personalized support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping them navigate New York City’s housing market. Through Housing Search Workshops, Source of Income Discrimination Trainings, and ongoing assistance, the Empowerment Program is dedicated to ensuring marginalized communities receive the resources they need for long-term stability.

Summer is Here at Neighbors Together

Summer is in full-swing at Neighbors Together! From field trips, celebrating our partners, and staying cool during rising temperatures. Take a look at what we’ve been up to lately.

A Memorable Field Trip With Our Members
This summer, our Community Action Program team and member leaders took a field trip to the Museum of the City of New York.

The Museum of the City of New York explores the people, places, and ideas that shape New York’s iconic character. Members learned about NYC’s history of activism and grassroots organizing, tenant rights, and housing advocacy.

The museum fosters civic pride through experiences that champion New York’s creativity, ambition, and resilience, and our group had a wonderful time learning in community with one another!

Celebrating Access to Housing
Housing is more than a place to live. It creates space for opportunities, dignity, and long-term sustainable change. Our friends at Anthos | Home have been wonderful partners in helping voucher holders and low income New Yorkers find a place to call home.

Our team had a great time attending their cocktail event in support of their work, and hearing stories of impact from individuals whose lives have been changed by housing support. Thank you for having us, Anthos | Home!

Stay Cool This Summer, Brooklyn

As temperatures continue to rise across New York City, we want to remind our low-income neighbors that staying cool and hydrated is essential. Extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for older adults, young children, people experiencing homelessness, and those with chronic health conditions.

If you need relief from the heat, remember that NYC Cooling Centers are open throughout the city during periods of extreme temperatures. Libraries, community centers, and other public buildings may serve as Cooling Centers, offering a safe, air-conditioned place to cool off. Need to find a local cooling center? Look here.
