Everyone Deserves A Good Meal
Since 2020, our Community Café has provided more than 330,000 nutritious meals. In 2023, the cost of rent in New York City rose seven (7) times faster than wages, and the cost of food increased by 25%. Our low-income neighbors face the impossible choice between paying rent or feeding their families. Hunger is often an early warning sign of impending homelessness. Most people who turn to us for food are in critical need of stable, safe, affordable housing.
Volunteering in Our Community Café
Volunteering in our Community Café is a meaningful way to support our work and make a tangible impact. We provide structured volunteer opportunities that promote skill building, a sense of belonging, social connection, and personal growth. Volunteers often leave feeling empowered, knowing they’ve made a real difference in the lives of others. Opportunities are available Monday through Friday, with up to six (6) volunteers per meal service. We welcome hundreds of individual and corporate volunteers annually – please join us!
