We operate with a strengths-based, goal-oriented approach to advocacy and case management. By building on the inherent strengths of our members, we encourage self-advocacy, enabling them to manage challenges and ultimately avoid crises.

Our staff provides personalized support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping them navigate New York City’s housing market. Through Housing Search Workshops, Source of Income Discrimination Trainings, and ongoing assistance, the Empowerment Program is dedicated to ensuring marginalized communities receive the resources they need for long-term stability.

A New Year, Same Committment to Community and Care

As we step into 2026 at Neighbors Together, we carry forward the same deep commitment that has defined our work for decades: serving meals, supporting our neighbors, and advocating for a more just and equitable city. A new year brings new beginnings and renewed energy, but our purpose remains constant: to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry or is left without support. Together, we continue to show up for our neighbors with dignity, care, and resolve.

We’re Open and Serving Meals

Our doors are open, and the Community Café is already busy. As always, our team is here to serve nutritious meals to anyone who might need them. Here is our current meal schedule:

  • Lunch: Monday through Friday: 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

  • Dinner: Monday through Thursday: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Whether someone is stopping by for their first meal or returning as a familiar face in our community, the Café remains a welcoming place where neighbors can find nourishment, connection, and care every day.

A Feature in Caribbean Life

Last month, thanks to our long time friends and partners at WhyHunger, we were so fortunate to be featured in the local publication Carribbean Life. Written by Milette Millington, the article discusses local organizations coming together to address growing food insecurity across New York City. Together, these collaborations are strengthening efforts to meet immediate needs with dignity while advocating for long-term solutions to systemic issues of poverty and food insecurity. Thank you Milette and Caribbean Life for featuring our work. You can find the full article here.

Volunteers in Action: The Lions Club

We are so grateful to our long-time supporters from the Lions Club who recently joined us for a day of service in our Community Café. Their dedication, energy, and care helped us serve another round of meals with warmth and compassion, and reminded us yet again of the power of community support.

If you’re inspired to join us and make an impact alongside your neighbors, we’d love to have you! Volunteer with us.
