Community Café

We know firsthand that hunger and homelessness are symptoms of poverty. 

Our Community Café provides free, nutritious meals to meet the critical and immediate need for food in our low-income community, in an environment that is safe and welcoming. We serve meals Monday through Friday, and strive to provide food that is not only nutritious but delicious! Through our Community Cafe, many of our members are introduced to our other key programs, which offer critical resources and support as they fight to stabilize their lives. 

Everyone deserves good food.

Since 2020, our Community Café  has provided more than 330,000 nutritious meals. In 2023, the cost of rent in New York City rose seven (7) times faster than wages, and the cost of food increased by 25%. Our low-income neighbors face the impossible choice between paying rent or feeding their families. Most people who come through our doors are in critical need of stable, safe, affordable housing.

Volunteering in Our Community Cafe 

Volunteering in our Community Cafe is a wonderful way to support our work. We provide structured volunteer opportunities in our Café to offer skill building, an increased sense of belonging, social support, and self-efficacy to our members. 

Volunteers can join us Monday through Friday, and we can take a maximum of six (6) volunteers during a meal service at a time. If you’re interested please reach out our team at sandro@neighborstogether.org.
