TRAINED IN SOURCE OF INCOME DISCRIMINATION
We operate with a strengths-based, goal-oriented approach to advocacy and case management. By building on the inherent strengths of our members, we encourage self-advocacy, enabling them to manage challenges and ultimately avoid crises.

Our staff provides personalized support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping them navigate New York City’s housing market. Through Housing Search Workshops, Source of Income Discrimination Trainings, and ongoing assistance, the Empowerment Program is dedicated to ensuring marginalized communities receive the resources they need for long-term stability.

For years, Neighbors Together’s members have been mobilized against the predatory practice of three-quarter housing, buildings that rent beds in apartments and houses for profit and falsely claim to provide supportive and other services.

Intro 1168 is one of the bills in the three-quarter house bill package that the City Council General Welfare Committee and Housing and Buildings Committee is holding a public hearing on tomorrow at 1pm. One of our members wrote an op-ed for The Gotham Gazette about living in a three-quarter house. “This scam is widespread and well-known,” he explains, as he describes his experiences in his own words. Please read and share to help us raise awareness of this important issue in New York City.
